How Zebra Earned its Stripes in 2011
(Posted on 13/01/12)
With 2012 already underway, we’d like to take a quick glance back at 2011. Zebra Marketing and Communications had a very successful year, full of exciting events, awards, new clients and projects. Here are some of our highlights…
Lots of Fun at Zebra’s Charity Auction
Our first event of the year was a charity auction in Chester on 24 March where Zebra raised over £2,000 for local children’s charity, Empowering Youth Foundation (EYF). The well-attended event took place at The Rectory Bar, opposite Chester Cathedral, with an auction presented by estate agent Wright Manley’s auctioneer, Peter Lewis. An array of amazing prizes were donated – such as a vintage Mustang driving experience and bespoke jewellery – by local businesses, organisations and craftspeople. Thanks to everyone who came along and all those involved!
Big Chester Wine Quiz
In September 2011, Zebra joined forces with fine wine merchant Cantina Caputo to host the first ‘Big Chester Wine Quiz’. The event took place at the Chester Guildhall and was a potentially confusing combination of wine tasting and quizzing. 18 teams participated and the winners were one of two teams from leading Chester law firm Walker Smith Way. £400 was raised on the night for our charity of the year, Empowering Youth Foundation. The evening was an opportunity for local businesses to get together in a relaxed environment. Due to its popularity and success, the quiz will be back in 2012. Keep a look out for further details later in the year.
And the Winner Is…
Zebra has also enjoyed a fruitful year and have helped to secure several key award wins for our clients. Engineering contractor Imtech – for which Zebra provides full internal and external communication services – achieved several industry recognitions in 2011, including one for its internal communications strategy at the Construction Marketing Awards. The Awards are run by the Chartered Institute of Marketing Construction Industry Group (CIMCIG) which recognise and celebrate the best and most innovative marketing campaigns in the construction industry year. We were very pleased our hard work was recognised by the judges and hope 2012 will be as successful.
‘Moving With the Times’ Conveyancing Conference
Zebra also got involved with Today’s Conveyancer (TC) at the start of 2011, with the planning, managing and delivery of TC’s first national conference. ‘Moving with the Times’ took place on Wednesday 7 September 2011 at the Barceló Hinckley Island Hotel, Leicestershire. Along with TC, Zebra worked in partnership with virtual legal secretary, Rachel Lyndon from Pencil Case and TC associate Kelly Gillard to bring this conference to the public. The conference – which featured guest speakers and presentations on innovative conveyancing methods – was a success and we hope to continue working with TC in the future.
By the Sea: Coastal Housing
Another new Zebra client in 2011 was Coastal Housing. We worked together with Design by Victoria Lee to produce the winter edition of its thrice-yearly ‘HomeFront’ magazine and are looking forward to taking this further with Coastal in 2012.
Happy New Year!
Overall 2011 was a great year for Zebra and we are looking forward to the new challenges and opportunities that 2012 will bring with our clients, both existing and new.
